A Spectrum Analyzer for audio OUT on a PC/Laptop

Hey SevenForums, long time no see

Okay, cutting to the chase, I want some audio analyzing software for the OUTPUT of my PC/laptop... (AKA Speakers), where as 100% of the software I have found only measures inputs... i want an analyzer for the output to sit on a second monitor.

I know, I know, Winamp and Windows Media Player have them built in, but I use VirtualDJ to listen to my media.. being a DJ, it gives me the options i need to add effects and what have you.

Before people start saying "Just use a hardware loopback".. i would but the mic socket is used for my KAM wireless Mic.

if someone wants to step up to the challenge, feel free to write me one..

Sounds like you would need an external analyzer to be able to look at the "output" of the sound card.

Woah, tall price tag...

Nah, I cant have an external because the laptop only has one outout (and that goes to the main mixer, which in turn goes to the three amplifiers in the club). I want to watch the audio live, so to speak, because..to be honest.. I'm a wierdo like that...

EDIT: You know the VU Meter in windows 7 that tells you how loud the output is? I basically want something like that, expanded. (Im no coder so I cant do it.)

The only way you are going to have what you want is to have something connected to the speaker out (use a "Y" cable and connect one to your speakers and the other to whatever spectrum analyzer you want). If you do it internally it will be digital, before it goes to the sound card and converted to audio, and not the actual output from the PC.

I have a recording studio (I use Sonar) and am also a PC tech and an ex amplifier repair tech.

I am a newcoming DJ, and i was looking for an effect to put on the secondary monitor while its not doing anything.. I will have to try something else.... thanks for your help anyways
