Solved Aarrrgh! A New Problem With Video

I've been having problems with my video editing software (Power Director 7). I mentioned this in another thread on here.

Now I discovered a new problem. I was able to make (produce) three videos using Power Director 7 before it crashed completely. I uploaded them to YouTube and kept the completed, exported files in Documents on my computer. I was planning to eventually burn them to DVD. The first two videos seemed to have turned out very well. There were a couple of glitches with the third video, which I still managed to produce after Power Director 7 started crashing repeatedly. I was able to play all of them without any serious issues. However, now none of these videos will play properly. They have all deteriorated, mainly broken up audio and some video glitches too.:banghead:

Could a problem that developed with Power Director after these videos were made affect them after they were already exported and stored elsewhere on my computer? Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

OK, since Format Factory was one of the very last software that I downloaded, and since I noticed an audio problem when converting .mov to .wmv with FF, I was suspicious and decided to uninstall it. Since uninstalling Format Factory these videos are playing normally again.

I am wondering about something though. I had been using Prism Video Converter from NCH and it was still installed in my computer when I downloaded Format Factory. Is it okay to have two different video conversion software programs installed on the same computer? I mean, they shouldn't interfere with each other if they're not running at the same time...right?

The NCH Prism software says that I'm only allowed to use it for "home use". I plan on uploading video to YouTube. Is that still considered "home use"?

My guess would be yes to all of your questions, but I'd defer to the fine print in the EULA you agreed to when you installed Prism. Ordinarily, I'd expect "home use" to mean "non-commercial" or "not for profit", but the EULA may state something different.

At times, I've had multiple video and audio conversion programs on my PC and never ran into any conflicts.

I am curious about why simply removing Format Factory would make make audio problems go away.

Maybe a codec installed within the un installed program!
