Should I stick to RC, or try a new leaked Version?

OK, so I'm about to do a reinstall of Win 7. It's now my main and only OS on my sig rig. It's been going great so far.

I have been running the 7100RC and it's great. I just bought myself a second WD Caviar Black 640GB AALS HDD. they are fast, nice drives. I'm going to be setting up a Raid0 array, then doing backup's to ext. Drives.

So. I currently have a 640GB in with Win 7 on it.. I need to install the second HD. Enter my Bios and set up the Raid array settings. Then do I just add the Win7 Disk I have and do a Install, and it will reformat and install for me. Right?

What is the best and easiest way to reformat, and install while also setting up Raid.

Thanks!

Has anyone installed Win 7 to Raid0... it works fine right, and like Vista, does not need Raid drivers.

I'm not too knowledgeable about raid but,

Should I stick to RC, or try a new leaked Version?

I say 7201 is very good, at least here :)

Set up raid0 last night with two hard drives after changing out motherboards. Windows 7 didn't find a driver for the JMicron JMB36X Controller during install had to go to Asus site (after installing windows 7) and get the driver once installed all was good. I'm running build 7201

anything different?

So far for me it's the normal speed and stability, plus some drivers were found via WU that weren't in 7100 and 7127

If your playing games that require Punk buster stick with 7100 or 7127, any build after that has problems with unknown API, which will result in kicks from your game.

I just made a separate partition to test it last night after some reported being kicked on COD4 and I can confirm this is the case, as far as changes in the new leaked 7201 build, the only thing that I have noticed is the animations seem smoother or slower, one of the two, either way they seem more noticeable when when you minimize or maximize a window and my WEI was better, graphics score went from 6.5 to 7.2.

So it's up to you if you want to try it but I would recommend keeping your current build and try a fresh install on a new partition.

Thanks for the input everyone.. What about right Click Context menu on Desktop. that fixed? I heard the new Nvidia driver fixed that so I need to try that ASAP.

in order to get 7201 I'd need to get it Via Utorrent right? and will my original Serial work I got for the RC? or is build 7201 on technet because I'm a subscriber now thanks to there 1 year FREEEE trial :D

Also Mr Grim, I'll be doing a complete reinstall because I'm setting up Raid, so I can't add 7201 to a partition. I have to wipe out everything I currently have to set up Raid Array. I play COD4, but not online so I don't need pb

ok I'm 60% complete on 7201 and I'll probably install that instead of the RC. might as well. but I don't wanna change every few months.

Also, Could I do an image of my current HD. and then setup a Raid array. Install Windows 7, then just put that image on. or does the image not work that way? I've never done it before.

Also, what does build 7201 say on bottom right of screen. a bunch of crap. or the same as 7100.. mine says Windows 7 evaluation copy build 7100. and that is it. will it say the same thing or something else?

Will i be off-thread if I commented on the robustness of 7228? in-box manufacturer graphics drivers are freagin awsome. The only programs I still have trouble with are utorrent, and anything pre-XP (even with the enhanced compatibility mode). So much for that ancient 99' GPS unit :(
