Acronis True Image Home 2010

I have a WD HD with backup software but I was just wondering if Acronis True Image Home 2010 Backup might be better. Usually the software that comes with a product is not as good as a 3rd party that specialize in it?

Acronis, in my personal experience is slower, but perfect in it's backups.
I haven't used the latest version yet though.

I'm an Acronis True Image 2010 user myself. I think it's well worth what I paid for it ($23.99). Just the Try and Decide feature was worth that price. It's never let me down yet. On boxes where I need a free imaging application, I use Macrium.

I'll give my vote for Acronis as well, although I have the latest version with the added Plus Pack.

Yep, i will fourth that and also say if the backup you have is a Windows own backup (The built in backup feature) Acronis 2010 can convert it.
Or thats what i read when i was playing around with the software.

Funny thing is most all of the WD back up app's are in fact Acronis. That should tell you something about Acronis.

As long as you have a WD drive connected the Free version works great; unless you are into bells and whistles.

Acronis all the way for me. I had a friend with a hard disk that was failing. I imaged the c drive to the D drive
and told it to ignore the errors. Evidently they were not in an important area. I put in a new blank Drive in the
C drive slot. booted the acronis boot disk and restore to the new C drive.
Worked and all was well.

I have done this several times and all went well.
