Just a note to let people know about Windows Activation today August 25,2020
I built my wife a new machine with a Ryzen 5 processor and reinstalled Win 7 Ult Retail.
Used SIW2's method of integrating Windows 7, Simplix Update Pack, Abbodi's DotNet 4.8 (If I remember correctly). Making the USB stick went perfectly. There is a lot of good discussion on that thread that makes things a whole lot easier.
I've always dreaded phone activation (which I did because this Win 7 was on a previous machine), because I never really knew what hoops I would have to jump through but used Brink's tutorial and everything went smooth as glass. MS site was very clear and I didn't have to go through the call center. Took less than 10 minutes even with me having stuff repeated.
Thanks to all you guys (and Microsoft for making the process easier) that made this possible!
