Hello,

I'm having problems connecting a printer to my laptop. The printer was working but when my laptop went away for repair it did not work on its return.

The printer works on my macbook and my PC running Vista however it will not run on the laptop running Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

I think it is something to do with the fact that my printer is on a network somewhere?? some how but I haven't a clue what to do.

When I try to add the printer using the add printer wizard it cannot locate the printer even though its switched on etc...

I haven't a clue why it won't work can someone try to help.

By the way I have tried downloading the drivers from the Epson website but when I press print it sends it to the print queue which then clears but no print!!!!

is the laptop on a network or domain? it sounds like they either joined or removed your laptop from a domain.

How to tell:

Right click "Computer" and choose properties

you should see "Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings"

ok that is standard. How is your printer on the network? Is it directly connected to network or shared through another computer?

I thought it was directly to the network but now I'm not so sure. How do I find out?

Sorry didint respond earlier, ive been on vacation.

If your printer is shared through a computer the printer will connect to the computer using a usb port or something similar.

If your printer is directly on the network it will use an ethernet cable in most cases. It will also have an IP address.
