Solved Adding VHD to the Boot menu

Hello I am reading the MCTS 70-680 book for configuring windows 7

when I type in bcdedit /copy (current) /d "myvhd" I get the specified entry identifier is not valid

Does anyone have any ideas?

    <filename>      Specifies the store to be used. If this option is not
                    specified, the system store is used. For more information,
                    run "bcdedit /? store".

    <id>            Specifies the identifier of the entry to be copied.
                    For more information about identifiers, run
                    "bcdedit /? ID".

    <description>   Specifies the description to be applied to the new entry.

Example:

The following command creates a copy of the specified operating system boot
entry:

    bcdedit /copy {cbd971bf-b7b8-4885-951a-fa03044f5d71} /d "Copy of entry"

Unable to follow step 3 on page 108

Hi dude Im trying to follow step 3 on page 108 of the mcts 70-680 book

I typed in bcdedit /set <27edffaa-c16f-11df-8b11-cba319331923> partition w:

But I keep getting The system cannot find the file specified

Do you have any ideas?

Check your command format. For the example you show above, it should read as follows:

bcdedit /set {27edffaa-c16f-11df-8b11-cba319331923} device partition=w:
