Administrator accounts can't Log in over network

I have a simple home network with just two computers both running Win7 (both in the same workgroup).

Lately I have been unable to log in to the desktop over the network from the laptop.

I discovered that if I use username and password for a standard account, the login goes fine. However, if I use an administrator account it complains I may not have access to etc etc.

If I change an account on the target machine to a standard account I can log in. If I change that account back to Admin status, the problem returns.

None of the accounts have stored credentials.
I tried uninstalling antivirus and turning off firewall, all with no effect.

Any Ideas?

Welcome to the forum. What permission do you have set on the share and NTFS permission on the folder?

There are several shared folders on the target machine.
In particular, the C:\Users folder is set with full control for Everyone, Administrators and my own account that exits on both the laptop and the target desktop machine.

In the security tab for folder properties, only My account, System and Administrators have full control.
Everyone is limited to Read and Execute privileges.
There are also several Account Unknown entries with long complex numbers that are also limited to limited to Read and Execute privileges

They are the worse folders to use by default even if your on the pc as administrator you can't access other users folders messing with them can give problems as you can effect rights to software and other system files.
