Adobe Photoshop.

You don't need CS4. The older versions are pretty cheap and unless you are a pro. you don't need all the "you beaut" stuff in CS4. Photoshop elements 6 is quite powerful, pretty cheap and although getting bit long in the tooth the previous version can be got on-line for about $35. The new version, Elements 7, is about one sixth of the price of CS4

Yes it is. However if you are going to shell out for a new program, decide exactly what you want to do. If it's web stuff and graphics the you need something like fireworks. If you want to work primarily with images and image manipulation, with some limited graphic abilities then Elements is the go.

I have Elements 6, it worked with XP and Vista but now with Windows7 Home Premium thinks is 32 bit is not behaving too well. Give up on organiser! Will open RAW files but after 'open file' and editing a bit more will save as .xml. Can save as TIF

Can anybody tell me what to do.

7 also upset my HP 4180 but after lengthywork with HP is fine now.

Good suggestions. These are the two graphics apps that I need for my basic tasks. I've never been good with any graphic app...I simply don't have the artistic ability to do anything productive with them. I think paint.net is a great application for the price.

I work with a guy who does a ton of graphics work and he swears by Paint Shop Pro. It's only about $99

Would love to learn more about graphics, but my attention span is too short to remember anything.
Sofar i got by with MSPaint. I did my sig with paint, even though it is a bit on the basic side.:shock:
