After enabling administrator account, I can't get past UAC

I enabled administrator account so i could repair MBR.

I've now logged back in as my normal user, and when I tried to change some system settings, I can't get past the UAC user and password section. I've tried putting in my normal login details, and I've tried "administrator" as username, and the password that only 30 minutes ago I set when enabling administrator account.

Any ideas why this would be happening when I had permissions previous to enabling admin account?

Hello and welcome Andrew now just what accounts do you have set up all I have is my main account (admin) and an account called Guest which I never use anytime.

I attached a pic of my accounts control does yours look the same?

I can't get to "manage user accounts" as it requires user account control, which I can no longer authorise.

The furthest I can get is User Accounts

Andrew one thing has crossed my mind since I last posted and that is can you do a system restore?

You might be able to use this if the restore does not work

But first please back up the registry so you can merge the changes back if the regedit fixes do not work
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/4230-registry-backup-restore.html < it is always good to do this whenever you install or get a new machine then the registry is as original if you need to replace any changes or corruption

No - I can't do a system restore, because, you guessed it, it requires UAC and I can't get past this.

I did create a restore point and also backed up the whole disk image before making any changes, but I don't want to restore the full disk image as it's currently at another location.

I've backed up my registry to a server.

What I'm confused about is why my user privileges seem to have been altered by simply enabling the administrator account and setting a password for it and fixing MBR.

Just rebooted in safe mode to try system restore, but it still requires user access control. Any ideas?

Have you tried to perform a System Restore from the Recovery Environment (RE)?

If not, here are the instructions:

To enter System Recovery Options from the Advanced Boot Options:

• Restart the computer.
• As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until Advanced Boot Options menu appears.
• Click on Repair your computer menu item.
• Select US as the keyboard language settings, and then click Next.
• Select your user account and type in the password, then click Next.

On the System Recovery Options menu you will get the following options:

Startup Repair
System Restore
Windows Complete PC Restore
Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
Command Prompt

• Select System Restore
  
  Next:
  • Click on Next> in the window that pops up
  • You should see a list of Restore Points (RP's)
  • Below the list of RP's, click on the little box to the left of Show more restore points
    If no RP's are there, stop and let us know.
  • Click on Next>
  • Confirm your RP and click Finish
  • Click Yes to continue.
  
  The system will begin the restore to that point. Allow the process to complete and click Restart and allow it to reboot on it's own and let us know if it boots into normal mode.
