After pre-boot single 'beep' my system doesn't boot.

Hi,

I'm having issues with my system not booting. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit.

I've had the problem for a while now. What happens is this:

The computer runs through it's pre-boot routines then gives me the single beep to indicate that everything is ok. Then nothing happens. The screen goes black and I wait for Windows to appear but it doesn't. Usually switching it off then starting it up again does the trick but clearly something is not right somewhere.

Last weekend my C Drive died and I just assumed that the problem had been a symptom of the progressive failure of that drive but now I've got a brand new drive and within half an hour of installing my system the issue has resurfaced.

Now I'm not sure whether the issue is system or hardware related. I'm also worried that the failure of my last C Drive might have been somehow caused by it.

Is there anything I can check or test to pin down exactly what is happening and resolve it?

Ok so I've added more info about my system but the stuff on the link... most of this I've already been through on my 'old' system. Just to clarify... I had this problem on my old drive but that died last weekend. Because I had the problem before it died I thought it was caused by the failing of the drive. I now have a completely new drive with a completely fresh system install and the problem is still occurring. This makes me suspect that it might be a hardware issue but I'm not sure how to determine this as I have no idea where to start looking.

What brand ram do you have and do you really have 64 gb of it ?
Also what power supply is being used ?

Hi,

My RAM is Corsair Vengeance and there is definitely 64Gb. I put it there myself. The power supply is a Corsair AX1200.

I would test with only 8 or 16gb's at a time to see if there's any difference :/

Could be a power supply fault as well...
