I preformed a system restore earlier today and now all of my files, including documents, pictures, etc., are hidden and read only. Not only just my personal files but a lot of files through my computer. I couldn't open a couple of my programs because it says this file is read only and my Microsoft Outlook won't let me use the send/receive button. It says I don't have these permissions. What do I need to do to get my computer back to working order?

Please help and Thank you!

Id try a different restore date as changing the permission on all the files would be very time consuming.

I did the system restore from another date and it looks like most of the files are back to normal at least I know all of my documents and pictures are back. The Microsoft Outlook still isn't working, when I click the send/receive but it says "you don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation." Any advise on this?

No problem :)
Find the .exe in C:\Programs Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe or similar then
: right click>properties>Unclick Read Only if its still on.
: Switch to Security Tab>Make sure your user has full control.

If it won't allow you to saying you do not have permission use this to take ownership of the .exe file.

Or if it fails try the manual way
