Yes why? I'm not sure how that would affect my existing hardware drivers. the driver dealy has been showing since before flashing my bios. hasn't seemed to change.
The error says "Windows can not load the device driver for this device it may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)"
quick edit: just realized it's also been showing "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" is saying "The drivers for this device are not installed"

It's working fine other than what device manager seems to be saying. Both hard drives work flawlessly. all usb ports work. 3D games play smoothly. videos smoothly. web browsing is also fine I'm not sure why it's saying there's something wrong missing or not installed when everything "Appears" to be working but no way to tell what problems could be lying in wait ready to strike.

I doubt there is much wrong ... Your Computer has a SOC) is an integrated circuit basically what it means is it has the CPU GPU memory Controller and Chipset in the one chip ...
That is very facinating but i don't know how my little driver problem is going to be solved. Perhaps it's just being stubborn or doesn't even matter and the device functions anyways. Could there still be a hidden solution out there?

so basically there is a device in my computer that doesn't do anything special or useful (but can improve something else already existing) that just plain don't work? (or isn't absolutely necessary?)

It is the way a lot of Manufactures mode their Drivers ... That is one reason to make your own Computer and even with that some Motherboard Manufactures have a lot of crap Bloatware that is not necessary .. But at least you would have the choice to not Install it .
