Hi Guys,
I decided to replace my old internal card reader with the Akasa 3.5" internal 6-slot multicard reader with Superspeed USB 3.0 [AK-ICR-07U3]
What I thought was going to be a 5 minute job became a bit of a headache. I've installed it and powered up the pc, it seemed to be working but then I got the message that the device could not be installed and no drivers were found. So off I go to Akasa website, I located the model and under support I found a "installation software" (even though the manual makes no mention of it and it's supposed to be "plug & Play").
I installed the driver and again it seemed to work, I was able to use my camera's memory card but when I tried to use another memory card it just froze, the reader gets stuck with the "reading light" all the time on even when I take the card out ... if I switch off the pc the card reader will still be stuck with both power and reading lights on, the only way for it to go off again is if I switch the power supply off. :banghead:
When I power the pc on it all looks fine until I try to actually use the card reader ... the usb port seems to be working fine though.
My system is this:• Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
• Integrated Intel HD2000 Graphics
• 8GB Corsair DDR3
• Gigabyte GA-H61MA-D3V GEN3 Intel H61 (REV B3) Motherboard
• Windows 7 - 64bit
Any help?
