All Cpu Meter (gadget) questions

This might sound noobish but I just installed the All Cpu Meter and I have a few questions. Do I have to have the gadget running on my desk top at all times? Continuously? When I close it out, I have to return to the All_Cpu_Meter shortcut on my desktop to reopen the gadget. It then asks me to "Install" or "Don't Install". WTH? Of course I choose "Install" then it goes on to advise me that I "currently have a version 3.3 installed yadda, yadda...do you wish to replace? etc etc." Naturally I do if I want to put the gadget back up onto the desktop. My question then is, "How can one open, close, hide, pin or shortcut a way to quickly and efficiently use the All Cpu Meter?" I really don't want to have it up and running in the upper right corner of my desktop non-stop. Also, when I open it a second time I have to reset my options and preferences such as size, etc. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. BTW, GREAT forum!! I'm always learning something new.

This sounds like a program specific problem. I would uninstall the application personally. My experience with most active monitoring programs is that they actually decrease performance anyhow.

If you insist on having it I would do a proper uninstall then reinstall the application using administrator rights, and see if that cleans up the problem. It appears it didn't install properly.

Sounds like the shortcut on your desktop is to the installer -- which is why it would ask about installing every time you click it.

Once you close a gadget, you should really right-click on your desktop to get the gadget gallery. Then, click the one you want to run. At that point, it should not be asking to install it again.

the best thing you can do is set it to 20% opacity and leave it open...

Yep, that's it exactly. Problem solved. Thanks. Actually I'm kind of on the fence when it comes to using Gadgets in the first place. It's a nice little novelty but I don't think I'd really refer to them that often. At least I know where to found one if I ever need it.

This website specifically calls out all CPU Monitor, i installed it and my Xfinity antivirus is detecting BOT.exe which is Malware, also know as "The Zombie", this is a very serious problem, to try and detect this open your CMD (Command Prompt) if your computer restarts, you are infected with this Malware virus. Malware is designed to raid files and drives, if you plugin and external flash drive and it is shown as a folder you also have the malware virus. Using the "Hot Keys" Ctrl+Alt+Delete, you can open your task manager and click on the processes tab and look for Bot.exe file and immediatly end this process... then go to some sort of system search and search for bot.exe, or just bot in the search engine, and delete all bot files that appear. if you cannot complete this task and your computer continues to restart, at the initial start when your computer restarts press the key F8 once and you should see a list of boot modes appear, you want to boot your PC with either Safe mode, or Safe Mode with Networking. when complete the tasks above. if you still cannot run Task Manager, restart and use Safe Mode With command Prompt and when windows begins login to and Administrator profile and when CMD opens type in "taskmgr" and it should begin. complete the tasks above.
