Solved All files in USB turning into a .lnk file (Problem Event Name: BEX)

2 - 3 weeks I got a problem which I thought is just a little bug. My PC was auto generating a .lnk file in USB and putting every file into it. The thing wasn't very annoying on USB sticks, but when you tried to connect any device which has USB, abilities went to zero to use any content in SD card. But It was possible to fix that, simply cut the files from .lnk file to the main folder and continue.

By letting it stay, recently I got .lnk file opening messed up and now it throws me a table with error report (Rundll32 stopped working).

How can I make this problem to disappear, so I can use my PC without making .lnk file automatically in USB?

The quickest thing to try is do a System Restore to before this started happening.

I can't find restore points older than one week. I had checked 'show more restore points'. Is there any way to get older restore points somehow?

then go to recovery-restore center

there u can see option to ""show more restore points"" or something very similar to it

Glad to know that your problem is resolved.

But we still do not know what exactly you did, that resolved it.

In the article I had referenced, to restore .LNK file association settings in Windows registry, four options are given.

The fourth option is to do a system restore to a previous point. Pratik had suggested getting into recovery console to look for "show more restore points". Did you find any and did the system restore?

Or was it the option 1 , 2 or 3 which did the trick?

If you clearly mention what resolved the problem, it may help others with similar problems to try that option first.
