windows 7 gadgets stopped. Problem even Name: BEX

Hi i downloaded some gadgets, soon after i install them my side bar stopped working i am unable to do any thing to that. i tried all the sugestions from the windows help but it never rectified the error details are given below.

If it just that sidebar is crashing can you go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search) to the windows log?application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column) that say app hang, app crash, etc.

When you find them note the Event ID and source code and relay tehm to us.

hi Shaks, i found the solution my self. the problem is a gadget which is corrupted, so what i did is deleted all the downloaded gadgets now the defualt gadgets work good.
go to start, search for Shell:gadget and open it delete all the files or try deleting one by one so that after you delete one you can check wheather side bar is working or not if not then delete all and check this should really work.

Event Id 1000 source 100 (application error) is sometimes DEP. Date Execution Protection prevents applications from launching code in protected memory space. If it is only only app you can go into DEP and exempt it (make sure it isnt a virus first). If it is more than one you can change the sensitivity or even turn it off.

It is located in your system control panel (see pic) and its std settings are for MS applications only. It is System CPanel>advanced settings>advanced>performance>advanced>DEP

Let us know if that doesnt help

hi ken thanks for this but i solved it by going to Shell:gadgets and deleting all of the downloaded gadgets. now it works properly, i belive some of the gadgets which i downloaded had corrupted so it was acting like that.

Rlvknlg.exe is mostly spyware related. You can almost certainly cure this with either Super anti spyware or the ever popular and reliable MalwareBytes.
