Hi all , not been here for a while.....

At certain times (and when I visit some sites) , I get badgered to install Google Chrome...

Now , can I install an alternative browser such as Chrome, whereby I can keep I.E. and switch between the different browsers ?..... a sort of 'dual boot' for the browsers.... I would like to do this as a means of checking out different (better ?) browsers , but have the option to revert to the original , if I so choose....... Any recommendations for a good browser ??

Is this possible and if so how would I download and install this , please ??

* As a side note.... Is there now an 'SP2' version of W7??

My machine is Windows 7 and (I think) I.E. 11 ....

I use Opera & IE11 which I have done for years & have never had a problem. Normally you would only one of them at a time. Opera can be downloaded from this website. Just install it as you would any other software. I have both browser short cuts located on the Task Bar for quick & easy opening.

No there is no "SP2" version of W7, still only SP1.

No problem. Just download and install. Run which one you want. Just be aware there might be a tug of war in setting the default browser.

I run:

Chrome
IE
Firefox
Palemoon and
Cliqz

Quite impressed with the latter. Based on Firefox Quantum it is much faster. Has lotsa built-in privacy goodies. And a built-in Search function which is ultra fast.

I vote for the latest version of Firefox.

Firefox is my first choice, Opera is my second choice.

Me i prefer
Palemoon - then Waterfox, both x64 ops, i do find that PM is a lot more customizable privacy settings wise, even more so if you know off and use about:config

Anyway you are not limited to a single browser
