Evening folks,

For some reason my Windows 7 Home keeps putting all my folders in to detail view and its currently annoying the hell out of me. I wouldn't mind if it remebered the size I put colums but it forgets it so I can see the names of anything.

How do I make my folder view settings stick?

I like icon or thumbnail view for most things but this constant changing to details view is annoying as (insert expletive of your choice).

Anyway, any advice?

Try this:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11356-folder-view-apply-all-folders.html
  1. Customize you folder the way you like, including view style (Right-click->Customize this Folder), columns, etc
  2. Click Organize, in the top left of the Explorer window
  3. Click Folder And Search Options
  4. Click the View tab to open it
  5. Click Apply to Folders
  6. Click Yes in the message box Do you want all folders of this type to match this folders view settings?
  7. Click OK

I did do that a while back, but it just seems to slip away over time. Seems to always start with My Music then spread out like some horrible folder view virus. then again my whole install seems to get worse over time.
