Amd display driver stops responding during game play

I have been having an issue with a certain game, minecraft. Some days I can play for hours other days for minuets then freezers and goes to a white screen and idsplays the following attached pic.

I have a rodeon hd 5850 graphics card

I have done the following

tried both java 32/64
updated the graphics card
testes the memory and passed 10 times

Can anyone help?

Also try an older version of ATI driver (v12.1, one of the most stable ones): Previous AMD Catalyst
