Solved amd drivers

Hello everybody. I just wanted to know about updating chipset drivers. I have ASUS motherboard
A85XM-A.
Display Adapter- AMD Radeon HD 7480D driver 12.105.0.0
Dual Core Processor-AMD A4-5300 APU with radeon(tm) HD Graphics driver 6.1.7600.16385
AMD A4-5300 APU with radeon(tm) HD Graphics driver 6.1.7600.16385
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

AMD A85X chipset
The drivers on the processor seem old, but I do not know much about drivers, and do not want to update
and end up with the wrong drivers. If someone can let me know if it is okay like it is, or should I update,it
would be appreciated.

It is better to use up to date drivers. And the drivers available with ASUS may not be very up to date.

If you follow the guide http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2803-device-installation-settings.html then you never have to think about the drivers once again.

Or you could head over to AMD and select autodetect and it will show you all available drivers for your system.

Thank you both for replying. I have been to AMD and they don't just give you the drivers. The last time
I tried I ended up with extra things like ace event log, raptr, quick stream. Does Asus give you the up to
date drivers?

One word of warning, Motherboard manufacturers will sometimes, (often?), tweak the drivers for components (such as a processor), in order to fine tune the compatibility with all the interrelated components used on the board.

AMD drivers will be designed for the processor used in any motherboard, but not a specific one from a specific manufacturer.

The Latest drivers available may not be the best for a specific model of motherboard.

you must be prepared to experiment with new drivers to see if there is any discernible improvement and no unwanted issues. Always image your system before installing motherboard drivers or at least make a restore point - Just in case

Thank you Barman58. I am a bit worried about what to do. This is a recent install on windows 7 as I had
to have a new harddrive installed by a technician, and he reinstalled windows while it was there. It had
a couple of problems when I got home with it. I had no audio, and everything it depends on was disabled,
so I reinstalled windows from my disk and everything worked. I did not check under device manager until
about a week ago for the drivers. That Driver for the Processor is from 2006, and I know previously the
driver was 2013. I do not know much about drivers, and I do not touch the BIOS. If I go to AMD can I
get straight drivers without extra things that I will not, and do not want to use?

Hi,
Yes Intel adds a lot of crapware to their driver downloads
Running setup.exe should list everything included in it.

I usually cull through it all and trial and error type of thing

So indeed use system images it took me 4 clean installs of win-10 to get straighten out
Win-7 was easier for some odd reason :/
Chip set driver wise anyway.

Thank you again. I will go back to AMD and open the zip files, and see if I can get rid of the crap stuff.
I will post back in the next few days, and let you know how I went. My internet connection at weekends
can be a bit slow.

Well ethel, I suggested it because I noticed that on your motherboards support page the latest drivers were from 2013 so maybe there were newer ones but Asus hadn't updated their pages.

Manufacture don't often release new drivers unless a lot of reported and confirmed issues are found and fixed.
Or for a newer os like win-10.

If in fact the drivers are from 2013 I imagine you already have them

Hello everyone I am back. The AMD Radeon HD 7480D driver 12.105.0.0 seems to be up to date.

Another little thing I just noticed with the AMD A4-5300 APU Radeon (tm) HD Graphics, is that it says
Microsoft driver 6.1.7600.16385. It does not say AMD.

I have been onto AMD's site, and got a bit on the confused side about what driver this thing should have. I
do not like playing with drivers because I am scared of putting the wrong thing in the machine. Just call
me miss confident.

OK, let us check the actual situation of your drivers. Upload the list of all the third party drivers Using NirSoft DriverView :

• Download and execute Driverview
• View > Hide Microsoft Drivers
• Edit > Select all
• File > Save Selected Items
• In the Save dialog, Set the path to desktop, Put "Driverview" in the name field, and save.
• Zip the .txt file and upload it.

Hello Arc, Sorry I didn't get back yesterday. I lost my internet connection until this morning, so I am just
typing the drivers in case it goes again.
This is a new harddrive installed by a technician

Driver - 1.1.0.0 haven't updated this one as hp is another one that likes to add all extra software, even if you click to just download the basic driver.

Realtek HD Audio Driver Provider - Realtek Semiconductor Corp
Date - 30.10.2012
Driver - 6.0.1.6767 tried to update this one about a week ago, but I must have downloaded the wrong one because it would not work, so I just rolled it back
to this one.

AMD USB 3.0 Driver Provider - Advanced Micro Devices
Date - 28.11.2012
Driver - 1.1.0.140

These drivers are from ASUS dvd that came with my computer, and has the chipset drivers on it.

I know the network adapter is fine, because it was just installed. ASUS Motherboard A85XM-A.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Ethel, your usb3 drivers are deffo out of date at 140, the latest is 185, and there are 2 drivers for usb3 on amd, the Host driver, then the Hub driver.

you want the latest amd crimson edition 15.12 - release date - 2015-12-17 chipset package

read my system specs, i have this chipset package installed.

amd have changed the installer user interface, but it is still easy to understand. BUT, as a newby, read each page carefully, you will get a better understanding of whats whats with your drivers then. if a page says somewhere 'automatically download latest drivers' or similar wording, untick that option.

i am going to have a further look on amd for your graphics driver. i will post a link when i find the correct one for you.

realtek audio driver package should be R2.79. realtek website has been very slow lately, i will post a link for that driver package too, when i find the bloody thing.

Thank you so much everyone for spending the time to help. Thank you EmmaRoyd for heading me in
the right direction with drivers. I have seen amd crimson before on their site, and thought what is the go
here? It is very much appreciated if you are able to find the right driver for Realtek, as I have been on
their site a few times to, when you can get on it. Never know which driver is the right one. If my internet
connection behaves today I will download all the drivers.

right, now i am on a wireless dongle for my internet. downloading anything at night is a pita, but,,,,
i never download stuff at times of the day when my isp's network is full of people gaming, watching online video etc, so i download in the early morning to midday period.

Thank you so much for finding the right realtek driver. My internet access can go at any time. Telstra
now is saying they are in the process of upgrading the towers, so hopefully it will improve soon. My download speeds sometimes get down to a ridiculous 3kbs/per second, and naturally it just stops. Other
times it will be 1mb. I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I also have AMD Catalyst Install Manager
8.0.911.0 . Do I have to uninstall this from programs, before installing anything else. I know it is also
under the registry, so not sure what to do about this.

AMD Catalyst Install Manager :mad2::mad2: is needed to install drivers. i hate the bloody thing. but its not that large installed, 25mb i think, but there are ways around it .

the audio driver is 125mb, and with your dodgy isp, try to use someone elses pc/network if possible. a dodgy network could corrupt your downloads.

soon as i can get into realtek, i will get direct download links for your audio and lan driver, though filehippo is ok for downloads, but i will need to get onto realtek for the lan driver.

if you uninstall Catalyst Install Manager, it MAY uninstall your drivers too.
