Thank you again EmmaRoyd. I am glad the amd catalyst manager has to stay, not because I like it, but
because I did not want to have to find all traces of it if I had to uninstall it. Everyone I know has the same
internet connection problems as it is all Telstra towers that all the providers have to run through. As this
is a clean install of windows 7, it took me about 3 weeks to download all the windows updates. I had to
pick my times. It will probably take me a few weeks to download these drivers picking times when the
going is good with my sucky connection.

i didnt say Catalyst Install Manager has to stay, it may, or may not have to. but it can be beaten.

i have successfully slipstreamed all amd and realtek drivers for my motherboard onto a w7 disc using NTLite. if that is beyond your knowledge, try the next trick.

amds driver packages install Catalyst Install Manager into one folder, and the full driver package into another folder. during installation, you can change where they are installed. the drivers folder is usually C:\AMD. if you redirect the Catalyst Install Manager install folder to C:\AMD. once you have restarted after installation, you can delete that folder because it is just a folder for the CIM to extract the driver package, the drivers themselves are installed into various windows folder subfolders.

deleting C:\AMD will save you 600 to 700mb for the CIM, display and chipset drivers into this folder.

to prove my point, 1st, MOVE the folder, DO NOT DELETE. use the pc for a while. when you are happy that things are working ok, then delete C:\AMD.

A few points of advice when installing multiple driver packages ...

• Create a system image or at least a restore point before each install.
• Reboot the system before and after installation, Even if the installer does not suggest this, Before to "clear the e Decks" for the install and afterwards to check that any startup items are loaded.
• Only install one driver package at a time, and a allow a day or two at a minimum between installs, to allow any bugs to show themselves.
• Try to only install a driver package to cure a specific issue, or add a required new feature,
• If it ain't broke don't fix it is always applicable to upgrades

as drivers are something I do not have much knowledge about.

Hello everyone. I have had a bit of success. Thank you Arc. I clicked the link on your answer and downloaded 15.12 minimal set up. Now have
AMD Sata Controller 29.3.15 Driver 1.2.1.402
AMD Usb 3.0 Host Controller 1.6.15 Driver 1.1.0.185
AMD Usb 3.0 Host Controller 1.6.15 Driver 1.1.0.185
AMD Usb Root Hub 1.1.0.185
AMD Usb Root Hub 1.1.0.185
and no problems. I did create a system restore point and rebooted before installing as per Barman58
instructions.
I did download on another day the amd crimson addition, and windows came up with errors, check
with your manufacturer, So I tried amd catalyst 15.7.1, and after downloading it windows says the files
are corrupt. So I have given up on that part at the moment.

Can someone help me with what driver the computer should say. I cannot remember how it was before
a technician installed this new harddrive.

ACPI x 64-based PC. It says no drivers are required and no files have been loaded for this device.
I have no idea what to do here,like I said I do not have much knowledge of drivers. It is just that the
Microsoft driver I so old, and the computer is starting up slower than what it used to. I don't know if
this has anything to do with it or not. Hope I am not to much of a pest.

Hello everyone, I have decided to leave other drivers alone, as the system is working fine. Thank you for
all your help, and I do agree with the phrase, If it ain't broke don't fix it.
