Android OS !

I'm going to go on line to re-register this Nextbook.. it's much easier to do there.
I'm also going to get my Google Acct.. back.. Sign in to it.. along with my regular mail acct.
I did remove the SD card before I re-set the Nextbook.
Thank you both for your gracious help.:D

This Nextbook is giving me a very hard time trying to get my music on it.
I'm not sure what I should try next.
Google App accounts do NOT work with this tablet, (I've been told by Nextbook )

Windude , Congrats on rooting your Tablet.. I have no knowledge about doing such a thing .. I know Dennis rooted his Toshiba Thrive Tablet.. I have one just like his.. however I'm not even read how this is done.

I flashed Cyanogenmod 9 RC2 onto my Galaxy Tab 2 and my tablet is so much faster and smoother. It blows the stock Samsung rom away! I love not having any custom interfaces that seem to slow devices down. Also, it is very customizable.

It is much faster. Also, games run smoother. My GPU framerate one one of the Antutu benchmark tests (the one with the people swinging swords) went from about 20 FPS on the stock rom to aroud 40 fps. That's double the FPS! Also, Temple Run and Riptide GP are smoother on Cyanogenmod 9.

I ended up flashing it back to stock without root. I didn't like the fact that my tablet charged faster and my fps were higher because I think it was messing around with the hardware. The tablet is only a month old, so I don't want any messed up hardware.

It's not messing around with your hardware. It's just more optimised software. A custom kernel will be being used, which will have increased scheduling, better memory throughput optimisation and increased I/O access. This also means faster charging times. The ROM itself will be more streamlined as well. It's normal to experience these things with a custom ROM. It's what makes using custom ROMs so good with the improvements they bring over stock.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I am going to keep my tablet stock for right now.

I like the specs of the Nexus 7, but it doesn't have a Micro SD card slot which is one feature I like about my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. Also, there have been a lot of quality complaints with the Nexus 7 which makes me not want to recommend it. I continue to recommend the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 because it doesn't have these quality issues.

I'd say go for it. The 8GB model has an amazing price for the specs of it. And not too much more for the 16GB model. It's a great tablet for the 7" market, and if you're looking at getting a tablet then it's certainly one to pick up. When I can, I'm gonna look at picking one up for a new toy to play with.

Yeah, the missing micro SD slot is a problem. That is my complaint about the RiM Playbook also - I really like that one. Have to study the Galaxy 2.7.0. Is that a 7"?

The reviews for the Galaxy Tab were lukewarm or were the reviews for the Nexus 7 lukewarm? Most of the reviews for the Galaxy Tab have been positive. A lot of the lag reviewers mention has been fixed by Samsung. There have been two updates released for y tab since I bought it.

If you want a real good tablet for heavy gaming, then get the Nexus 7. If you aren't going to be playing very heavy games most of the time, the Galaxy Tab is really good. I play games like Riptied GP, Temple Run, and Raging Thunder 2 and they all perform pretty well on it. They aren't going to be as smooth as they would be on the Nexus 7, but they are playable and I enjoy playing those games on my Tab.

Do you care about having a stock Android experience? If not, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 would be great for your needs. I can't and won't recommend the Nexus 7 until those quality control issues are fixed.
