Android Phone or Iphone 4?

Do you have it? I'm on 2.2.

2.3 is not yet released. Still in beta.

It's not in beta, just the source code hasn't been released yet and official updates haven't been rolled out to phones from the manufacturers yet. The SDK has been released though already. Once the source code is released, there'll be custom ROMs out soon after that. You'll have to wait a while longer after that for the manufacturers to roll it out to phones officially though.

Android 2.3 Platform | Android Developers

The the update itself will be released with the Nexus S, I think on Thursday, with updates to phones and everything else coming in the weeks after.

I have Android( Xperia X8) but I like iPhone 4 display
I think that Android will take over the world

But Symbian OS is still the most popular mobile OS atm

I think what's more important is with Android being the newer OS, the rate at which it's gained it's market share, and when there's 300,000 Android phones being activated failed.

Neither, webOS is much better. Better GUI, though the hardware currently is a bit on the back burner, unless you buy a Pre 2. Next year we'll be seeing at least several new devices though.

Now if only some of you devs would support it...

I would go for Android. I have an iPhone 4, I would say that the iPhone 4 still has not improved from their predecessor, iPhone 3Gs.

If you really want to go for Android. I would recommend Samsung Galaxy S, HTC Evo 4G (on 4G, not 3G), Motorola Droid or Google Nexus One. They are really good Android Phones.

If you go for iPhone 4, you'd be stuck with AT&T. AT&T provides the WORST customer service, and Consumer Reports ranks them as "Last in U.S Phone Carriers".

With the iPone 4 you have the antenna problem, can be fixed with a rubber case but those can be annoying. There have also been cases of iPhone 4's blowing up wile in use and also the charging wires catching fire when plugged into your computer.

Whether you like the GUI or not is all down to personal preference, and with Android it's possible to customise it.

Like I said earlier in the thread though, both iOS and Android have their pros and cons. iOS being standardised, and Windows Phone 7 falls in to this category too, meaning more developers are willing to support it more as they don't need to worry about different specs unlike with Android.

But then open source opens up a lot more possibilities.

Might I recommend that you provide links to these charges of "blowing up" and
"catching fire" or otherwise they are just rumors.

Yea, so like I said - it's down to personal preference when it comes to GUI.

I got a cheap Android, since I don't talk much or anything, it's all that was available. I can't complain. My uncle has an iPhone, which i've played with. It's not bad either. Only way to know for sure is to mess with one and see what you prefer.
