Hi

Im from Poland and i couldn't find any answers in my language on our forums, thats because i'm writing here and trying to describe my problem.

I use 2 PC's in a home network over a router. One of them (call him XP) has Windows XP PRO SP3 on it, and the other one (call him WIN7) has Windows 7 RC 7201. The XP can see my computer on the network, and access him, and all shared folders and files. The WIN7 can do nothing, it can only ping the other one. WIN7 can not acces himself when i get into My Komputer and then network. He can see himsel, but when i click on him i get an error message (i try to translate):
"\\WIN7 is not accessible, you will may have no premissions to use it.Contact your network administrator to get the premissions.

Given network provider is incorrect"

If i try to acces WIN7 from WIN7 over my IP trough start>run>\\ip i get the same message. I can also access XP from WIN7 with the same method.
The only way to access XP from my WIN7 is to run XP mode on it(virtual Machine), and then sudeenly from XP MODE i can access both of the computers XP and WIN7. I've tried many things, and spend several hurs to get it running but i have no ideas more...

Has anyone ideas how to get it work?
and sorry for my English, i hope you understand what i wanted to write :)
thanks for any help

on the Win7 computer with file shares, go to network sharing center. look at your network adapter properties and make sure "file and printer sharing" is enabled

back in network sharing center disable "password protected sharing" and make sure public folder is shared to everybody

then go to local security policy -> local policies -> security options and enable the Accounts: Guest account status (near the top) and set Network access: Sharing and security model for local accounts to "Guest Only"

reboot the Win7 computer and then try to access \\win7computer from my computer or in network

let me know what happens

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. I have set everything what you told me to do, but it didn't worked. I have here some screenshots in my attachments to shaw you what happens, and i changen my language to English, because it was easier to set this settings what you told me.
But still nothing works. If i try to share a folder i become a message that i can't share this folder, and i don't know why, but when I'm in Total Commander there is an icon that the folder is shared.

Greetings from Poland

You do realize that both of those programs have been causing problems for people? NOD32 has been causing memory leaks and other problems and ESET has it's share of problems with Win7 also.

Yes you can and as long as the hardware doesnt change keep re-installing. A clean install is a PITA but often it turns out easier becuase it takes a finite amount of time where as troubleshooting may take more or less

If it were me I would backup and re-install

What you mean with bacup? Just copy some files, or is there a function to do this?

I use NOD32 and have had no problems. The only problem people have is due to them not uninstalling it before an upgrade.

If you want to use the backup built into windows go to the control panel>backup and restore>enable backup>point it where you want the files to be stored.

Let us know if you need help with that
