Solved any conflict between antimalware progs

I just bought the Premium version of Malwarebytes anti-malware and I'm wondering if I should disable the Microsoft anti-malware now? I'm using (on the advice of this forum) MSE very successfully but felt the extra protection of the Premium MBAM was worth £17 a year. Are there any other issues I should consider now this upgraded security is in place?

No, this particular combination will not create problems.
The conflicts only are likely to happen when you have more than one program with an active, real-time scaning running simultaneously.

I've just re-read my initial posting in the light of your reply and realised it is a bit ambiguous: I am still running MSE and it does have Real Time protection switched on. The Microsoft antimalware doesn't appear anywhere except in my services list and it is self-protected so it won't allow itself to be altered in any way, I can't do anything about that even if it was necessary, at least with my level of ability anyway. Windows Defender is also active, along with Windows Firewall.

MBAM is designed to run in tandem with traditional AV's - it loks at the files in a very different way, and is NOT a replacement for an AV at all.
Keep both running.

...and MSE should have switched Windows Defender off, since the anti-malware part of it is actually an upgrade of Defender.
The Firewall is a whole different thing - and independent of both MSE and MBAM.

I've just had a close look and sure enough defender is turned off. It was the Microsoft Antimalware that concerned me as I am unable to turn it off. Is it not a conflict having two antimalware running simultaneously?

No - MBAM has its own methodology, and was written specifically to allow use with other vendors products (and they generally made a very good job of it!).
You should have no problems running the two together.
