Any digital camera shooters?

I think that the argument that digital is not "real" photography has pretty much completely died for anything other that very large format. FINALLY

Here's one taken from the boat the day we saw the bald eagle. All I did is resize this with Irfanview to be forum-size friendly. I think a lot of my pics are more due to my being in the right place at the right time than anything else, because I really don't know what the heck I am doing.

Sorry but composition is in the eyes and the eyes tell the brain what it see's, you see pretty well sir.

I try....good thing about digital is I can delete all the bad shots, and I do a lot of deleting.
This is from last fall, trying to sneak up on a heron that had landed.

I'm a pretty keen amateur. I have a Canon 40D and several lenses, tripod etc plus a Panasonic Lumix compact which is great fun. It's only 6mp but has a 10x Leica zoom.
It's the lens that makes the difference I think. The Canon has a APS-C size sensor and 10.2 mp but on a good day in good light I cannot really tell the difference viewing the image at a regular distance on my 1920x1200 screen.
The little Panasonic was only cheap as well.
My subjects are mainly landscape and abstract although I've just started a project on suburban and urban sheds. UK allotment/garden sheds tend to be self made ramshackle affairs where a bit of plastic conservatory has been tacked onto an existing wooden structure which has itself been extended with unloved old doors and pvc sheeting. I like the faded but once gaudy colours and the weathered timber mixed with concrete block work and so on.
I'm also going to attempt to combine that with portraits of the shed owners.
My landscapes tend to be both rural and urban as I live in the once industrial North West of England where former Mill towns stand in the middle of beautiful Pennine Hills and moorland areas.
I think it's a great hobby. It makes you look at everything differently whether you have a camera with you or not.

I'm sure the outdoorsmen at least here in the USA have heard about this store.....I wanted something to give a perspective on the size of that boot, and thankfully, a couple people were outside the store at the right time.

Yeah I know that place! I live less than 1 hr from it and remember when it was a lot smaller, did the Antique Tackle Appraisals there a few years ago and saw some excellent old tackle too. I still have 3 pairs of those boots too.

I went there while on a little mini-vacation. There's some beautiful things in there, but most of it is above my budget.

They have an outlet store around the corner from there and a pretty good size one in N Conway NH as well, great savings too.
