Any luck with ScanSnap s510?

Due to the "version checking" portion of the Vista drivers for the ScanSnap it will not allow an install of the software even running in Vista compatibility mode and I have been unable to find Win7 64 bit drivers for it. Customer support there is awful at best.

So is there a way to trick the software into thinking that it is installing on Vista vs Win7?

No -- no luck

I spoke with "tech support" at Fujitsu today. They informed me that they had only recently begun "beta testing" of ScanSnap drivers for Windows 7. Mind you, this is months after the release candidates were available for Win7.

According to tech support, there will be no driver support until sometime in January, 2010. No, it won't run in any compatibility mode, and no, they can't explain why no one has been doing any driver coding at Fujitsu even though they were fully aware that Windows 7 was launching.

My guess is that the person in charge of keeping things up to date there is someone's child or bed partner, because they are not doing a very good job.
