Sounds like a nice setup. Enjoy and good luck
I hope so, thanks Dude.

Thinking Im going to order a Kanger Sub Tank mini and try some sub ohm build. Still love my Kayfun, but it really isnt meant to go below 1.1 or 1.2 Ohm builds. And since my Provari very much dislikes firing below 1 Ohm, Ill need a sub Ohm capable device.

Good on the mini, I value your input.

On a side note, after seeing this, the Vicious Ant Clone is no longer under consideration.
He talks about all the saftey measures and such for a bit so just skip to the 1:45 mark.
I find that guy hilarious. I kept expecting him to demo igniting charcoal or jump start a car with that box.

I found it funny but felt sorry for him at the same time. He was trying so hard to sell the product but it seemed as if anything that could possibly go wrong did.

Well I went with the Kanger SubTank Mini and the Sigelei 100w plus
So far so good.

Also picked up a bottle of Five Pawns Gambit Juice. Expensive stuff, but picked it up as a special treat.
They are pretty good, but I wouldn't buy their juices on a normal basis due to price. $28 for a 30ml bottle :(

The Kanger Sub certainly has some airflow.
I'm used to my Kayfun which has a tighter draw but difficult to do good lung hits. Should be in good shape now for whatever mood Im in.

I've been look at a iPV 2 70W.
Anyone have experience with them?

I had been looking at the IPV 4s while comparing the mods and APVs I did end up going with. Those were already named off earlier in the thread here for the sub ohm capable ones I use which will do the job depending the style of APV or box mod preferred. Pricing factors kept me away from the IPVs for the most part as well as the need to hand pick which vendors to which items from too often.

The Luxyoun was the light weight Rosewood 150w box mod I keep at the desk while the iStick 50w and 30w models are the more durable. The 50w has the improved button plus temp control which is a plus! The Smok BEC Pro is the bluetooth capable 50w. The ZNA 50w is on the heavier side for the 18650 powered along with the DovPo E-LVT 30w with DovPo now offering a 35w compact version.

I still didn't get around to the newer Kanger sub ohm anythings after not being too thrilled about the Aerotank Mini and Mega flustrations! That's about how those get sized up as far as shoddy AFCs! You have to fight to get those in just the right spot pressing the firing button as you turn until you start hearing the air flow get going! :(

The Aspire line-up on the other hand has the notched positions to insure the hole or opening selected is exposed and not partially obstructed by the collar on the tanks. The main obstacle with the Atlantis of course was the small 2ml capacity where you end up needing to buy the 5ml replacement tanks. You want that when turning the watts up and end going through ejuice much faster.

Well after some time with it, the subtank isnt too bad. But not without its issues, at least for me.

Ive built several .5 - .8 Ohmbuilds and they all end up spitting juice up through the drip tip for some reason. I used a screen between the drip and atty that helps alot though.
very good airflow if thats your thing.

BUT...
When Im just kicking back relaxing, I really dont care about cloud cloud chasing (and this is true 99% of time)
And the sad truth for me is, the Kayfun provides a much better vape (better flavor)

Still like the Sun tank, just wont be my main one.

I still have to try a few other tanks like the Kayfun as well as take a few fast looks at the Kanger models as well as the other sub ohm tanks coming out now in droves and some cheap as crapola superb!

At first when both the 5ml Nautilus, Mini tank, and Atlantis were first being tried out someone comments they were going to give up on the Nautilus entirely and stick only with the Atlantis. After ending up getting several to have one or two for each of the mods I find myself only placing light use on the Nautilus tanks.

At the desk the Vamo Fire 20w which can't sub ohm will see a full Nautilus there with a Smok Tumbler on the eGo VW battery for a pair of menthol flavors. The mod stand for the tv stand will see an iTaste VV v3.0 with a Nautilus Mini for another quick grab. The other mods if not with iStick inhand will suffice. Having a small tank or the Nautilus for a quick grab menthol flavor has actually not allowed one sneeze for months now to be seen especially with the pollen season here soon to be blossoming!

If you are into trying out all types of flavors having a selection of tanks will be most likely what you end up with since some flavors simply won't like higher watts. With a menthol at 6-7w on a battery with Tumbler another flavor champs at 10-11w with the same tank. Tumblers max about 10-11w. For the Nautilus and Mini 10-20 usually 18w maxing out. Sub ohm tanks like the Atlantis will just start firing at 15w and peak at about 40w while I've had a few flavors right at 50w without issue on the 150w mod.

Note none of that is for clouds while the increase in vapor however serves to come closer to how it feels when you light up an analog. One of the main beefs with the old CE2 1.6ml top coiled crud was the lack of output as typically a problem seen with the cig alikes. The trick is to find the balancing point which is where you want to end up being at. ;)

Hello there! HJake Welcome to SF! I am while A Guy apparently never needed to start vaping since he apparently never smoked.

The CloudCig brand is much like what many of us have first started out vaping with until moving onto let's more evolved gear each according to their own preferences and experiences. Besides handing one of the two disposables I had started off with the Bloog brand back in Sept. 2012 who soon added larger eGo type batteries and 1.6ml refillable clearomizers along with having refillable blanks for their cigarette look alikes with led light on the end.

Having quit tobacco for a few years prior to trying out any vaping gear often goes much easier then still finding yourself lighting up until eventually getting into the type of gear often the need for increase in both flavor and vapor output to put the nasty stuff away for good! The end of March made the full 2yr. mark here for me too. Congradulations for you are in order!

Ah so you are now the more advanced? what do you recommend?

Before anyone can start making any serious recommendations you first need to find where your preferences are as far as flavors, nicotine level which can have a bearing on how flavors taste as well as how warm vapor can be at times. Some won't like anything over 10 watts while others will go with high wattage mods. Some prefer mechanical over regulated mods. Some end up DIYing(Do It Yourself) their own eliquids as some here do.

Some will tend to stay with cig sized batteries while others usually most will move onto eGo type 3.7v batteries or VV, VV/VW(VV=Variable Voltage, VW=Wattage) batteries or mods. Here over the last 2 1/2yrs. I have given quite a few things a good look over and established what works here including the latest tanks and mods. That came about from sampling flavors for one eliquids vendor who is rated one of the top ten in the US. For most however time and your budget will play a large role.

Couldn't agree with that sentiment any more then stated! A Guy :D Unfortunately despite introducing some friends at this end to vaping they would still rather cling to the nasty stuff!

Here I didn't actually "geek out" on vaping gear but made some serious investments based on experience once the improvements were coming about compared to what I had started off with. I might even consider getting a pair of tanks, having been one of the main drawbacks early on, Innokin is now coming out with in the sub ohm dept. as well as the other high wattage tank rated for 60-70w just coming out lately. Otherwise the gear I have now should last for some time to come. New iSub Sub-Ohm Tank from Innokin - multiple versions; the iSub, iSub-G, and iSub Pro

Interesting NightHawk, Innokin has always been very good quality in my opinion. May try the iSub one day.

Precisely! I thought people should know about this one. The Eleaf tanks on the other hand proved to be cheapo made.

I wasn't expecting much from iSmoka with those however and have been considering the Horizon Artic since Horizon seems to have a good rep. One other to note is nothing further has been heard on the Scion Quad Core. That one seemed to have been drowned out by the Aspire Artic and Kanger sub ohm tanks in a hurry.

The new iSub tanks if anything like the other two will have the advantage of the larger 4ml capacity you generally expect to see from a tank not the 2ml the Artic comes with in want of a large replacement. If the coils and AFC are anywhere near what the Aspire tanks are it will likely take a lead. We'll see. ;)

One thing I could add here which could prove to be quite helpful for HJake would be some practical information on how to go about picking and choosing things like hardwares when first starting out. As I mentioned before the options seen now have greatly improved since I first started out back in Sept. '12. How To Buy Your First Vape Mod

No cigs for a 4 days aided by vaping and I can feel a difference. I breathe better already and have shed some edgy anxiety cigarettes somehow gave me. No weight gain either. Everything is better except the budget which should invert shortly. I went with a kbox. It gets the job done, though one battery is not enough to get me through the day. The subtank mini works great. No leaks, great flavor and no more cigarettes. Vaping kind of reminds me of pipe smoking without the dragon tongue.

The mod landscape seems very beta like. Thirty day warranties and pricing on par with a nice medium level smart phone at only a fraction of the tech. How long do these mods last? The way I'm vaping now, it appears I need a 2 cell mod to get through a day without a power boost. More digging...

Wait until you get past the initial 4 months without smoke and then see how much better you breathe! :geek: When the tightness in the chest eases way off as well as no longer getting any burnt taste in the mouth you'll know. :D

The KBox should work out for you at least for the time being especially if that is anything like the Kanger version seen at Kangertech KBOX 40W 18650 Mod

Here I have a few mods that take a single 18650 and run the Panasonic High Drain 3100mah batteries in those. You can either leave the battery in each and charge it there with the cord provided or remove it to charge separately. The ICig V9, Luxyoun 150w wooden box mod, and DovPo 30w "Indestructable" vinyl cased see the batteries left in them. After 2 1/2yrs. with cig alikes including a few disposables, Vamo APVs, eGo batteries, etc. lately the Eleaf iStick 50w 4400mah sealed battery type box mod has been seeing the most use however.

The others will have tanks set up with differing flavors for the quick switch over just for a change of pace at times or for the after dinner variation. You may find that as you go along you will start collecting more gear as well as see the need for more tanks. The 4400mah battery lasts much longer however when placed up against the usual for 18650, 26650 batteries. The longest time is with the 5000mah 18650s I have run across while you wouldn't want those for anything over a 3-15w APV like a Vamo or SMOK ACE since they won't handle too heavy a draw.

Durable longer battery mods include the iStick 50w 4400 mentioned as well as the Innokin MVP2.0 6-11w, MVP 20w(7-20w), just out MVP 3.0 30w all three seeing 2600mah sealed batteries. The SMOK Groove II was a flop tried out here being 3-16w mode with a 3800mah sealed battery but cheap plastic casing and ended up a very short lived mod before grabbing the Innokin heavy weight Titanium/Stainless 3-15w box mod that takes a single Flat Head not Button Top 18650. Reliable as anything can be since Innokin stuff is durable but did find some Panasonic 3400mah Flat Top 18650s. That barely fires an Aspire Atlantis sub ohm tank when all the way up at 15watts.

Actual life spans of mods depend mainly on how any mod is used. With the 20w 2200mah original Eleaf iStick by iSmoka people were stripping out the aluminum threading in a hurry and had fire buttons rattling while none of that was seen here having used the 510/eGo adapter and even adding on the Bending Adapter allowing you to fold up the small tank attached for carrying around in a pocket. The sealed batteries often go sooner from constant recharging where the entire mod has to be replaced while many stay with the replaceable 18650 type for either box mod or APV Vamo style. You have to figure which will work for you the best however since the market is now loaded with either of those types as well as having plenty of mechanical mods. Many who rebuild atomizers, RBA, RDAs, etc. will favor mechs over regulated.

All that information is going to keep me busy Night Hawk, thanks.

The Kbox uses the 18650 so I am limited to this cell spec in another box for practical, interchangeable use. Batteries also bear serious safety consideration. In my many years experience working with electronic hardware, the only Class C (electrical) fires I've witnessed were caused by batteries. So with safety in mind I charge cells in a stand alone, engineered charger. After some of the material I've read on the electronics built into certain boxes, I think I'll pass on usb charging.

The Panasonic 18650 is a solid performing cell. I wonder if a 5000mah 18650 is even possible. I saw another brand claiming 6000mah in a 18650. I found a 18650 battery comparator online. The author does extensive testing on chargers and other batteries also.

I think I will look into mech boxes while regulated boxes mature.

The Kbox is interesting. But the one thing I really don't like is that its not really adjustable.

I mean you go from a 12W setting to a 20W setting. But 12 may be too little and 20s too much. In general the presets arent bad. but sometimes you need something in between.

In regards to batteries, unless your using a device/build that requires a lot of Amps it doesnt make a big difference.
But for those that do, or to play if safe, the Panasonic,Sonys are a good choice. I think LG has one too thats really good.

Ive been using the Segelei 100W Plus Box Mod and its not bad at all. Runs on 2 Panny18650s.
Batteries last a long time, maybe 2 days between charging, with typical build of 1.2-1.4 Ohm or so.
And with Sub Ohm/higher wattage builds little over a day.

Overall I like it.
