Any Way to Install Things?

Hello,

There is a problem installing things on a family computer. Whenever attempted, the install requires that it be installed through the administrator log-in. There is no access to this, and the person that does is unavailable. Is there anything to install things?

Things to be installed include things like GIMP, Steam, and a few games, but they cannot be as long as access the to administrator account is not available. Is there a way around this? Since it is a shared PC, resetting things would rather not be done.

One thing that has been attempted to do was to try logging into Administrator through a start up into safe-mode, but when that is done, there are no accounts at all that show up on the Welcome screen. Is there a way to fix this?

We have no way of knowing whose computer etc, why not ask the admin for permissions.

I second zigzag's advice: Contact the administrator.

That's the reason there are administrator accounts and user accounts.
