Anybody tired of Aero?

I've never tired of Aero.
I shut it off in the betas of Vista and haven't bothered with it since!

aero's cool. it's just a bummer that the alternative is that fugly taskbar. MS should have made it "different" when aero isnt on. like the MCE taskbar, or something.
in other words: transperant taskbar = pretty, opaque taskbar = wtf!? eww.

i dont really notice it in windows, probably due to they're usually maximized, so it's really just the bar itself that i dont care for.

so for me, aero STAYS on

I personally find the Aero implementation in Windows 7 to be just about right it's unobtrusive and does not have too much over the top animations as in other GUI's today the working of Aero Peek and the live thumbnails suits the way I work so I am happy to keep it

I will turn Aero basic on for a bit. I do like the taskbar thumbnails.

I like AERO

One of the reasons I chose to upgrade to Vista in the first place and then Win7 IS "Vista done right" in my opinion. As someone else mentioned I also have a definite fondness for the libraries, they make my life simpler.

Of course as we here on the forums know.....To each their own....amen.

I dug it for a week then went back to Windows Classic. I never used themes in XP and ain't going to start now.

Aero is superb!!, i cannot think of a practical reason why you would want to disable it..??(unless your rig is not up to scratch)

any speed increase would be utterly marginal & certainly wouldnt save any time, & you'd be left with the jagged pixelated windows which look TERRIBLE!!

Very true...unless the person is just plain It is all about perception where the speed is concerned

I am attempting to adjust to it. The Windows 7 Basic (which I thought was Aero Basic), does not support the taskbar thumbnails. I like the thumbnails, mucho. I just don't like the sizing and spacing of all the controls. I have tried a variety of different StarDock-like products, at cost, and have always returned to Windows Classic (highly modified).

If only there were native Aero variations - not themes.

I just noticed - I have 18 IE tabs open - and no thumbnails. It would seem there is a limit to open thumbs. As I am wont to have so many tabs open, I may have one less reson for Aero.

Yea the limit is the height/width of the taskbar, whatever number of thumbnails fit in one row.
