All my drives now have the following entry : $UpgDrv$

This is always dated on 6/2/11 and I am 99.9% sure this was never there before. I think I installed Acronis True Image Home trial on that date because I know I downloaded it on 6/2 ?

Is this an Acronis entry and is there any reason NOT to delete it ?

I have removed the Acronis trial version in ass much as there where too many issues/problems generated by the program.

Can I safely delete all the " $UpgDrv$ " entries on all my drives ?

Thanks...TRinAZ

I have this file on my drives also. Have not had Acronis installed on this machine so I would say it is unrelated.
I have however performed an operating system upgrade so from the few unclear answers I found on google, I am assuming it is a file that stores the drive letter that was used prior to the upgrade being performed. It then knows what drive letter to assign because this attribute is still the same after the upgrade has been competed.

Removing the file hasnt had any ill effects!

Posted so late because I thought it may be helpful to passers by....

Not sure exatly where that came from or whats responsible for it but I can say this ...
I do not have that file on any of my drives and Im a Acronis user. So I agree, its likely unrelated to Acronis.

Would be nice to know where it comes from though.
