Anyone know why I get this FTP error?

He's only starting there and completely replacing the address with ftp://...

The problem is that he can't get an outbound connection handle and setting passive will fix it, that is, if he's even still reading ;)

I may doubt you here baarod, as use passive mode for ftp is enabled by default under inet props, atleast in my 7000 updated IE8 it is.

Just use flash, or hey, why not go old school with win commander :P ... still dont need any commands, all gui, and advanced enough if you want to go in depth with it

depending on what server app he is using, passive support will have to be done for sure, and should be done anyways IMO. And depending, may have to actually manually type in the binded ip to the passive ip mode range ( old versions of servU). The range is usually 10 ports. Also have to set the client ftp to pasv mode to be able to communicate or you will get the dreaded socket error.

But still, if all the user input is correct, i go back to the uploading from a VIRTUAL dir would be the problem, uploading "air" so to speak, nothing is there. But double check privs for the user accounts.
