Anyone recommend a brand of motherboard they usually go with, AMD AM3 that support amd phenom II x6 cpus? I was looking at this ASrock 870 extreme3 I hear people with good reviews but not very great at O.Cing but I like Japanese made Items that's probably why im siding with them and its only 99-109 bucks thats really my budget probably buy something better in the future but any economic boards out there good for money because im not cheaping out on the PSU so yeah..

So far I have used ASUS, GIGABYTE and MSI.
The first two I would buy again...MSI can be a little tricky sometimes (or I just grabbed a "Monday model" :D
Seeing how ASRock is a subdivision of ASUS (AFAIK they started out to cover the low cost/DIY market) they might be worth a shot.

I've had a couple of boards from ECS, both for AMD processors. The first was a Skt 939 and the second my current board (see my specs). Depending on what you intend to do, most manufacturers should be able to satisfy your needs.

One important factor that I take into account with motherboards is driver support for on-board features, such as audio and graphics, with more emphasis being placed on the audio component rather than the graphics since I add a dedicated graphics card but use the built-in audio capability. Personally, I would recommend a board that has Realtek HD Audio for that very reason. Others may disagree with me on this, and that is their perogative, but I've seen numerous threads about audio problems involving c-media, VIA, and other codecs where drivers are, in many cases, unobtainable. At least Realtek do update their drivers on a fairly regular basis.

AsRock is made by ASUS; the ASRock boards are great but usually will lack some OC features and yet still OC quite well. With the ASRock you will almost always have legacy IDE connection whereas ASUS boards have dropped it all together on their newer boards

I have an Asus P5Q Pro in one machine and a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 in another.
Had the Asus for quite a while and it has been great. I'm also very pleased with the Gigabyte but the Asus has some form of small Linux OS on it (ExpressGate) which enables you to get online.
It's a bit like safe mode, low res etc. It really saved me once when Windows wouldn't boot as I could get to this forum and get help.
I'm not sure whether this comes with their entire range but I think it's a great idea.
