Hi, wilson219! Welcome to the Seven Forums! :)

My issues with outlook have only been with an "AppHang" not an "APPCRASH".

This was from the pfbackup.exe add-in which is incompatible with 64bit Outlook.

It appears your issue would be unrelated as you are running a 32 bit version of Win7 and, therefore, a 32 bit version of Outlook.

Have a look here. Good Luck! If I find something else, I'll let you know but I suspect you'll have it solved before I do. :)

re.mikedl: thanks, but in other computers with windows 7 and same outlook, it's work. Only with this computer, even after system restore, the same problem exists.

There must be an add-in or com-add on that particular computer, which is not on the others. Outlook 2010 Appcrash

re. Irene: I have tried to disable add-in, but the problem still exists. The problem is that once I move the mouse to the sender of the e-mail, the contact card of the user will come up. I found a solution (edit the group policy) on the web to disable the contact card function, however, my user does not accept my solution since it will bring inconvenience to her. Can you help me to solve this problem??

Just in case you did not read through the detail in my link, here is the method used to resolve the issue:

Check if you are able to work with Outlook in Safe mode. See the steps below..

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run
  2. Copy and paste the following content and press Enter: Outlook / safe
If you are able to work with Outlook in Safe mode, then use the following steps to disable add-ins and Comm-in Adds.

  1. Click File menu > Options >Add-in, click Go button in the Manage: Com-in Add
  2. Check if there is any add-in, clear the checkbox to disable it.

Once you have tried this method, please post back with the result. :)

re. irene: I haven't tried to use safe mode. But I want to ask what is the difference between using safe mode and disable add-in and running normal mode and disable add-in??

Thank you

re. irene: I haven't tried to use safe mode. But I want to ask what is the difference between using safe mode and disable add-in and running normal mode and disable add-in??

Microsoft Office safe modes can allow you to safely use a Microsoft Office program that has encountered certain problems. There are two types of safe modes:
  • Automated Safe mode When you start a program and a problem is detected, the program goes into this mode and either fixes the problem or isolates it, allowing the program to start successfully.
  • User-Initiated Safe mode You can start a program in this mode to try to resolve certain issues.

What User-Initiated Safe mode does

The following restrictions apply when you start a program in User-Initiated Safe mode. (Some items listed below do not apply to all Microsoft Office programs.)

  • No templates (template: A file or files that contain the structure and tools for shaping such elements as the style and page layout of finished files. For example, Word templates can shape a single document, and FrontPage templates can shape an entire Web site.) can be saved.
  • In Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer, the last used Web site is not opened.
  • Toolbar or command bar customizations are not loaded, and customizations cannot be saved.
  • The AutoCorrect list is not loaded, and changes are not saved.
  • Recovered documents are not automatically opened.
  • Smart tags (action tags: Data recognized and labeled as a particular type. For example, a person's name or the name of a recent Microsoft Outlook e-mail message recipient is a type of data that can be recognized and labeled with an action tag.) are not loaded, and new tags cannot be saved.
  • All command-line options are ignored except /a and /n.
  • Files cannot be saved to the Alternate Startup Directory.
  • Preferences cannot be saved.
  • Additional features and programs are not automatically loaded.
  • Documents with restricted permission cannot be created or opened.

In other words, the program runs in basic, without any 'bells and whistles'.
In order to exit Safe Mode, you simply exit the program, then restart it again.

I hope that helps. :)

Edit:

Understanding the difference between Office safe modes and Windows safe mode

The Office safe modes are not the same as Windows safe mode. For more information about Windows safe mode, do the following:

  1. Click Start and then click Help and Support.
  2. Type safe mode in the Search list, and then press ENTER.
  3. Open a topic on the Search Results list.

Lots of information in the Search Results list. ;)

Thank a lot!!
The APPCRASH is due to the corruption of your registry key.
You will need to stop all services and use regedit to delete the corrupted key.
WARNING!! Unless you are familiar with registry keys I strongly urge you not to attempt this on your own!
Contact Microsift Offic eSupport and allow them to RDP into your system to perform the repair.

Worked like a charm.

The following remedy fixed the APPCRASH OUTLOOK.EXE crash:

Check if you are able to work with Outlook in Safe mode. See the steps below..

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run
  2. Copy and paste the following content and press Enter: Outlook / safe
If you are able to work with Outlook in Safe mode, then use the following steps to disable add-ins and Comm-in Adds.
  1. Click File menu > Options >Add-in, click Go button in the Manage: Com-in Add
  2. Check if there is any add-in, clear the checkbox to disable it.

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
Hi All:

I have a Windows 7 pro 64 bit and 2010 Outlook. Every time I press SEND after writing an (often lengthy) email, the whole program crashes and gives me options to scan for solution online then restart or just restart. I can't even exit the application. The mail doesn't save.

I have switched my accounts from IMAP to POP mail and back again, disabled all add ins (but cannot do so in safe mode as I can't get to it as directed above) to no avail. However, every time I restart Outlook after crashing, I will usually be able to successfully write and SEND ONE email without further crashing. But God forbid I try to write and send more than one -- application will crash again with same message.

The error I receive is identical to one posted earlier on the first page (APPCRASH) at the same location with the same error code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
