Hi there System 7 Demigods,

So I'm in my email where a buddy sent me a word doc as an attachment that I modified, hit save, and saved to Lord Knows Where....

The address when I retrace my steps (ever so cautiously) is:

<<Users>Name>AppData>Local>Temp

Now I can see the Word file but can't find out how to open it so I can send it back to my buddy. Wahhhh!:cry::cry:

It looks like the file is hidden because as I open up explorer and go down the list I can get to Users, then Name, then there is NO AppData file or folder to open. Bloody Microsoft Weenies!!!

How do you open AppData, and then >Local, then >Temp.

Oh yeah, the word doc is saved as a "Rich Text Format" if that helps.

Your kind advice gratefully accepted... Thanks all.

Unhide hidden files and folders ... click on 'folder options' from the control panel, then click on 'View' tab, uncheck don't show hidden files and folders, and 'hide extentions for known types'.

If you are going to open an attachment, make changes, and then either keep it or send it on, you do not simply open it from your email. You first SAVE the attachment to a location on your hard drive of your choosing, presumably the documents folder. The error made is yours, not Microsoft's.

Oh thank you for pointing out my deficiency Oh Superior Being (, I cower at your Magnificence and Graciousness... but like I said...:focus: Bloody Microsoft Weenies!!! :sa:

Those idiots who design these programs keep changing this stuff around from one iteration to another and we lowest common denominators who finally figure it 1/2 out are left blowing in the wind. Remember Vista?

Bloody weenies!!

Wow, more helpful advice.

Thank you everybody for the help. If it were not for people like yourselves who willingly help out, we less than technical types would be absolutely lost in the art of computer use. I am grateful indeed. :D

If you had been doing it properly from the start, you wouldn't have even seen a change.

You replied. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh boy, you're really funny. :geek: Ha ha ha ha ha ha. I guess some people need to be right no matter what.... Ha ha ha ha ha ha...... and get that last word in. :geek: Thanks for making a another frustrating experience with Windows 7 enjoyable; it's always so much fun to play with those who have such large ego's and thin skins.

Oh, and as this is my last post on this subject some advice for you: You might consider the nature of this forum and why there are so many gazillions of queries from "1/2 wits" like myself who unlike Your Highness, actually have a life off-line. Anyhoo, whilst eternally grateful, gotta go and have a life.

Ha hahahahahahahaha hah!
