APPLE s/w on Windows 7?

Never come across this issue before. My grandchildren want to play their ipad games on my Windows 7 machine. My immediate response would be 'no', but after some light googling of "apple games on windows" I ran across something called VMware. I am no computer maestro but I think this tool is something called an emulator? If possible I 'obviously' would require a simple and safe solution.

I have done this and it is non-trivial at best. Involves acquiring the MacOS (I started by buying Snow Leopard) then installing Oracle VirtualBox VM...go to www.sysprobs.com; here I found a link for you:

If it looks tricky to you, well it is. And do you even know the MacOS? It's not the same as iPad.

Unless you want a new challenge/hobby I would respectfully suggest you're better off telling the kids to go outside and play in the wonderful CA sunshine...

I've got OS X Mavericks on VMware, and it wasn't easy. When I mentioned my achievement on this forum I was told it's illegal to run a Mac OS on anything other than Mac hardware. Also in general games don't run too well on VM.

I'd still recommend the OP has a look at VMware - it's a load of fun. The free version is called VMware Workstation Player. It's basically a computer within a computer, emulated in software. You install an OS as you would IRL. Needs a half decent cpu and sufficient RAM for 2 OS's - eg say 3GB already in use + 3GB allocated to VM means 6GB total.

VMware's great for trying out Windows 10, Linux etc. I've got every version of Windows in VM, going back to WFW 3.11/DOS 6.2.

It is, in fact. The Apple license, more or less, says that "Apple software only runs on Apple hardware", therefore attempting to running it in a virtual machine on a standard, non-Mac, computer is a clear violation of that licence.
MacOS is closed-source software indeed, but that doesn't matters (Windows is proprietary too and you can run anywhere as long as you have a valid serial), it's the license what explicitly forbids that.

Yah it's really not. But as for the Apple license question, there is a subculture of MacOS fans who install to Intel hardware ("Hackintosh") and as I surf their various community sites I never see any threats by Apple to shut them down.

I suspect that Apple views this activity too as "tricky" at best, done by a relative handful of (us) crazies, and that what it does really is inspire many to simply go out and buy a Mac. So consider that too (and instead) MourningStar, if only perhaps a secondhand machine.
