"Application Data" ?

Hello,

I am using a program that generates, and refers to, and modifies, a single database.

It is located in: C:\users\Bob\AppData\Local\sdrsfm\freqmgr.db

The Database is freqmgr.db.

If I go to this path, it shows up right where it is supposed to be.
No problem.

But if I use AgentRansak for a search, and search for freqmgr.db, I get quite a surprise.
Zillions of lines show up, all with a path similar to:

C:\Users\Bob\Local Settings\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\Application Data\SDRSFM\FreqMgr.db

Untold numbers of "Application Data" lines, each one getting more of them (the Application Data).

What are all of these Application Data's, please ?
Why are they being generated, probably ?
etc. ?

I suspect that it's probably a problem with AgentRansak. I don't think it's anything to worry about. If you can find the file normally with explorer and it's in the right place, it should be OK. I don't think Windows is generating a bunch of Application Data folders.

What you are seeing is the result of a recursive search.

Why you are seeing it - I can't say. I could not reproduce your results.

Manually make a text file named test.txt.
Put it in the same folder as freqmgr.db
Use AgentRansak to search for test.txt.
Do you still see the recursion?

What you are seeing is associated with junctions.

"Users of Windows Vista and 7 systems often experience issues whenever trying to copy and backup their profiles. This is due to the junctions, folder like data which actually behave more like links between folders situated in another disk location or even on a another disk. While junctions offer a most convenient solution, they can be a bit problematic and Junction Box is just the tool to fix this."
