Mistakenly took ownership of c:/users/username/application data folder

Getting an access denied message when doing some folder maintenance in my user account, I foolishly Took Ownership of c:/users/username/application data. I was in the same account - a user a/c without admin priveliges, which is my main account for daily use, and filled in my administrator details in the permissions popup.
I then got a cmd.exe window with a stream of messages about either success or failure in finding/taking ownership of folders stating that ownership was now with my Administrator account. That cmd window is still running and I will let it run.
I realise this was a bad move! After doing a search, I saw a thread on the Vista forum explaining that this was not a real folder but a "junction" folder - the user had done the same as me, and was being talked through a repair.
Is it possible to revert to what I had before?

Many thanks for your help.

Thank you so much for a prompt reply. The cmd window finally stopped running. Nothing seems to be broken yet but I haven't logged off or rebooted. There is no relevant restore point. The folder still shows Access denied when I click on it, as presumably, it should. If I R click the C:\Users\Me as non-admin User\Application Data folder, then select Properties, & the Security tab, it shows 4 Group or user names. Everyone - no permissions ticked at all SYSTEM - Allow - all ticked xc special permissions at bottom of list. Deny - no ticks Me as non-admin user - same as for SYSTEM Administrators - same as for SYSTEM There are no Deny ticks anywhere. You say the folder should be "restored to system full control and everyone no access " Am I to assume that you want me to use the R Click Properties box, Security tab, and EDIT button, to edit the permissions for "Me as non-admin user" to be the same as for "Everyone" - that is - no permissions, no ticks? Do I do the same for Administrators? So that the only user with any ticks is SYSTEM? Please confirm - or clarify. thanks again for your time and prompt help - it is much appreciated!

thank you for your reply. I'm still unclear about what I should actually DO?
Since the cmd.exe window finished I have taken no action.
I have neither logged off that account, NOR rebooted.
You say the permissions are correct. That's good.
With regard to the ownership... do I need to try and revert that and if so, what are the steps please?
Or do I just leave well alone, reboot, and see what happens?
I am not familiar with the inner workings of virtual folders and permissions, so would be grateful for basic steps to follow.
Many thanks.

I have since had to reboot, and immediately ran into some problems with a couple of programs that would not run any more in the user account but did run in the administrator account - both from the same software vendor. I tried a system restore to about a fortnight ago but that did not solve any problems. The programs that were not running in my user account threw up the error "The invocation of the constructor on type 'MailwasherPro.CustomDataGridControl' that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception." and the suggested fixes for that from the vendor have not worked so far. But both programs will run on the Administrator account okay. So it seems that there is still something not right and I do not know what specifically to change in the way of ownership or permissions and would be grateful for specific instructions step by step. Many thanks.

From what you qouted they seem right its hard to say how many folders you effected you could try creating a new user then check the permissions and set your acc the same
