Applications&games not opening, error (0x00007b), other problems too

Hi

I've been trying to fix my laptop for a few hours now.

At first it was Microsoft Security Essentials not working due to urlmon.dll missing, so I had to download it and put it in System32. Now the error is (0x000007b). So I uninstalled MSE, did Windows Updates (which won't finish, it's been stuck for a few hours) downloaded MSE again and the error is the same. I've also restarted it a few times as well in the process.

Then I tried opening Internet Options and it wouldn't display, so then I tried looking that up and in another forum there was a brief mention of opening Spider Solitaire to see if a video card is acting up. That's when I tried opening Spider Solitaire and again nothing is opening...

I have no idea what I'm doing, please help.

I'm dragging FRST onto desktop (when it says Move To Desktop) but it's not appearing on my desktop.

I clicked run the administrator regardless, and the Application Error came up again "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application."

That works! It's verifying right now but it's going really slow.

When it's complete, what do I do?

If it locates any issues upload the CBS.log

Inside C:\Windows\CBS\CBS.log

You may get one of these statements :

Windows Resource Protection didn’t find any integrity violations.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

Or

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

It said Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files

I went to Windows then tried to go to CBS and then to logs, but CBS wasn't there.

So I went to Logs and then CBS. I clicked on the CBS file to open the Text Document, but it popped up with Access Denied

There's also CbsPersist, CheckSUR and FilterList. CbsPersist doesn't open but CheckSur and FilterList do, will that be helpful?

I'm sorry, you want me to run the CMD as an administrator and then type 'C:\Users\your account name\Desktop', right? And I did type in my actual account name not "your account name" just fyi.

If you did, then the message is not ' ' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Zip the CBS.log file and upload it . I will ask someone to take a look at the log and will create a fix .

Copy and Paste the log from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log to the Desktop . Right-click the file point to Send To, and then click Compressed (zipped) Folder.
