HI,

I am the administrator and when I use to add programs to myaccount it would automatically also show up on my standard user account aswell. However, for whatever reason this no longer happens. I have ran several virusesprograms and none is found. I am exhausted at trying to figure out this problemand I am looking for help with this issue. Any help out there?

I am running MS windows 7 home premium edition 64 bit.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hello dbanks, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Where were you wanting the shortcut to be at for the standard user?

Some programs will give you an option to have a shortcut placed in only the current account or all accounts during installation of the program.

If not, and when it doesn't automatically create a shortcut for all users, you could manually create a shortcut from the .exe file of the program in the Start Menu all users location for all users to have the shortcut.

(Option Two below)

Hope this helps for now, :)
Shawn

I appreciate your prompt reply. My only issue with is thatall of the programs that I am installing on the admin side use to show up onthe standard user profile as well along with the proper files to run on thatside. Now nothing at all migrates to that side. Adding a shortcut might workfor some applications that I am referring to but I doubt all. I am sure thatsomething is out of whack and I just can’t figure it out. I have runsfc/scannow and issues are showing up. Any other suggestions?

If this has just recently started to happen, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before it started to hopefully quickly undo it and fix it for you.

I did try to restore from a point several times and it constantly would not work. Eventually I deleted several programs and rinstalled them and this is when I have found that they where not migrating to the standard user profile. weird things is that the system restore is now working again but with updated restore points...

Does this happen with newly installed programs as well instead of reinstalled ones?

As a test, create a new standard account to see if it works properly in it to see if it may just be an issue with the current standard account.

Brink, Thanks a million. All of your suggestions have led to to the solution. Once I created the new account. I noticed that the programs have started migrating again. I think there was a problem with the one program that I was focused on. I will just delete and reinstall again. Thanks again... I marked this solved, is there anyway that I can add more to boost your professional points on here?
