Are batch files allowed?

I ask if .bat files are allowed because I have some software that uses a .bat file to install it's pdf printer (Quicken 2009). It seems the file won't run even as administrator and the compatibility wizard won't touch it.

I noticed there might be a registry fix to allow it to run, but if Windows 7 was not set up to use them, are they normally useable?

I did get it to work another way, so I don't need any help there.

I've used several batch files (.bat) and .cmd files and they worked fine.

What does the batch file try to do?
Can you post its contents here?

The batch file is used to install a PDF printer which is licensed from Amyuni. The additional information after Install.exe is the license information. It seemed to work OK in Vista.

Install.exe "Quicken PDF Printer" -s -n "Intuit Inc." -c "07EX---8XX4D52"

I see...

Make sure you run the batch file as administrator or disable UAC.

I am trying to run a batch file that connects to a VPN and having issues with it. It will open and I make one selection and then it closes. Is this an issue with Windows 7 or is it the file. I can open the file fine on XP.

Disregard the post. I just had to turn on Tel Net clients in the window features to get this to work.
