Are you saying that RealTek is seriously the only audio manager out there for all people to use?

You have a sound card it is built into your MOBO. You can purchase cards such as Soundblaster. They are relatively inexpensive.

What do you want that the RealTek manager does not provide? There are many versions of the RealTek manager and some functions are actually hardware (what the PC or motherboard vendor has enabled or disabled).

Whatever onboard audio is used by the MOBO determines what audio manager is used (in your case, ReakTek). The only way to change that would be to add a sound card that uses a different audio manager. The only kind your MOBO would be able to use would be an external USB sound card or an internal PCI-e sound card (PCI-e is generally better). If you go with the internal sound card, be sure to get one that is PCI-e (aka PCI Express) instead of PCI since your MOBO doesn't have a PCI slot. Most of the cards in Gary's link are PCI and won't work with your MOBO. PCI-e sound cards are kinda hard to find since most MOBOs now have pretty good onboard audio.

basically, when i use RealTek, my microphone gets all messed up, if i talk it doesn't hear anything, if i blow into mic it is very loud and crackling.
If i uninstall RealTek and use default drivers, it works fine, although it's not very nice to use the defaults.
I got a new motherboard which comes with new Realtek drivers, and no matter which drivers i install, it always uses the same ones, or it may just be the skin.
Before i got the board i could use realtek very well with no problems and my microphone worked fine.

Methinks the problem may be more hardware related than driver. Reviews I've read for various newer ASUS MOBOs say that the front panel microphone port has the very symptoms you reported. A possible solution would be to use a soundcard that has front panel headers or a USB sound card with a mic input. Another option might be to use a keyboard that has a mic input. USB mics are also available.

I have a MSI board not asus, mic works fine as i said, so does all the wiring and hardware, unless Realtek somehow climbs aboard and uses different wires or something.

I was going by your system specs. We can't help you if we don't know what hardware, etc. you are actually using.
