HI all - I tried to search for an existing thread but....

I have TWO pcie NEC USB 3.0 host controller cards installed. Each card has two usb 3.0 ports.

Everything was fine until I installed the second card. Now I get a BSOD only when I shutdown, and it seems every time I shutdown. It boots fine.

Question: I know I have given very little detail but in general, is there any reason I should not be able to have two of these cards installed? The device mgr actually looks like 3 are installed (under USB Controllers).

Windows 7 (of course)

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi Elliot and welcome

Without the DMP's there could be a million reasons. You should be able to have two or more but if the number of drivers/devices in device mgr is different than the correct number that in itself could be the problem...Try UN-installing the highest number device.

On mine it says in the documentation that you can only have one, but I have no way of knowing if you have the same kind there's like a million of them out now. Maybe you could try going old school and making sure they don't have conflicting resources in the device manager. Wow that's so windows 98ish:).

Hi - Sure looks like the two cards installed is the problem. I tried every permutation of one card in both pcie slots and NP. Hey Jeremy, what card do you have? I have a Bytecc BT-PEU310. I'd love to see your documentation.

Hey, I tried to find my docs online and couldn't sorry but the tech support # for your card is 909-930-3700. I called them and asked and they said they've never tried that. LOL but it should work. So maybe you can call and get help. Here's the link to them if you don't already have it.

Jeremy - That was REALLY nice of you! Thanks. I did not even know any kind of tech support was available for this little card. Guess I should have looked. I'd like to make it work. I have 4 USB 3.0 drives attached and would like to be able to add more.
