Asus p5kpl-am se

Hi.
I am a bit in doubt. My got Asus P5KPL-AM SE; Intel Core2 Q6600; 3 Gb Ram.
Pc stop working a while ago. He went to dodgy repair man. He said that mobo is dead and he need a new one. I have just put a new same mobo but pc do not boot. No beeps, black screen. Cant even go to bios.
Any ideas what it could be?
Its not ram as I tryed to lunch it without ram- beeps straight away.
How do we troubleshoot cpu fault?

I think its 250W unbranded. pc was bought some time ago from the shop.

Fill in all your system specs.

I would try another power supply if you have one handy. I would never advise someone to run out and buy one (like the "dodgy repair man" apparently did with the motherboard), so borrow one or be VERY SURE you can return it if it doesn't solve your problem. A 250W PSU has got to be pretty old. My guess is that it's not cutting it any more.

hmmm... Will try with mine 850W. And yes, you are right, PC is about 3 years old.

I put in 850W PSU. Same story. PC switching on but nothing happened. Few seconds after switch on cpu fan spins quiet fast then back to normal speed. No beeps to say any error.

When you put the new MB in did you make sure that all the standoffs were in the right place? While you're checking you might also look for any pinched wires, etc.
