Solved ASUS XONAR DS 5.1 on Win7

Hi all, firstly I'm a CAD Engineer not a computer wizz kid so I can understand PC's if explained. I needed a PC to run Inventor at home but I've gotten p...d off at the moo poo I get from some of the dealers so I decided to figure it out myself as best I could and so far the results are good.

As time is always limited I thought I'd ask you guy's for an answer to this simple problem. On my PC I run both XP and Win7. Whilst working I listen tomusic all the time, all sorts from rock to classical to Zulu. When I built this PC I picked up the Xonar DS cheap and it works really well on XP but I cand get it to work on Win7, it only comes out 2 chnl not 5.1. The setup disk does say XP and Vista but does that mean it won't work on W7? If it will can someone point me in the right direction or suggest an inexpensive alternative that will please? Ideally I'd like to keep this and keep things cheap and Cheerful.
