Yah, I did it in AHCI mode.

Done. Took 2 minutes. Piece of cake. No trouble whatsoever. And in Device Manager 0309 shows up. Applause for Crucial.

64GB is the next victim. These are both new drives.

Yup, very easy to do, order one and you won't be disappointed.

I just discovered I used a DVD+R to burn the FW update instead of a CD-R.

Release notes say you can update from 0001, 0002 or 0009

I have both the 64GB and 128GB versions and downloaded both. I see that they are the exact same size down to the last byte. Is there a difference, or can I use one disc for both drives?

Prof, I don't know the official answer to that. Britton30 said he used the same ISO for both his 64GB and 128GB and I used 2 ISOs one for each. As far as I know, neither one of us had a problem, so my guess would be that they are the same. But again, I don't know and didn't see that question asked on the Crucial forums.

Edit: no matter which ISO you use, it will show both drives as being updatable.

If you're really curious just open a command prompt and go the directory they live in

It will do a binary file comparison.

I thought I'd use my laptop as the guinea pig since I figured it would be better to brick the 64GB drive rather than the 128GB one. It wouldn't detect it.

Fortunately, my laptop's BIOS allowed me to change from AHCI to IDE, which did the trick. One down, three to go.

But AHCI works too. I had no problems because my Dell does not even come with the IDE option.
