Audio service problem

Hi,

I've a weird problem with my audio on my windows 7 ultimate pc.
When I start my pc it has no audio and it shows the following picture @ the taskbar:

I've to click on the option on the following picture:

Then a window will open that says: the audio-service is not started would you like to start it? y/n

When I click Yes, I have audio again. But this doesn't always work and I'm not happy with it either. I'd just like to have audio when my pc starts.
I also want to sell this pc later on, so it must be in good state.

If someone knows the solution, that would be very appreciated.

-Installing drivers for audio doesn't work.
-going to services.msc already shows that the audio service will start when the pc starts.

Make sure the following services are also started and their startup type set to Automatic.

•Plug and Play
•Multimedia Class Scheduler
•Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

Also, you can run audio Troubleshooter by going to Start -> Control Panel -> Troubleshooting -> Troubleshooting audio playback -> Follow the wizard to complete the troubleshoot.

If the issue persists, test the issue in Clean Boot. That'll help narrow the problem down.

Btw this happened when I upgraded from Windows Vista Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Maybe I need to download something for Win7? I tried downloading drivers or other things, but I really didn't know if that was the correct 1.

This is such a weird problem.. It will be really hard to find out what's wrong, because I've searched the whole web for a solution already and no1 had this weird problem.

Upgrade.

Everything worked fine, all my files were still there; except for this audio problem ofcourse.

Do you have a sound card or mother board chip set? It still sounds to me like a driver issue. Have you checked Device Manager to see if any errors are showing up with your sound/audio devices?

The reason I asked if you had done an upgrade or a clean install is that many times upgrades create problems that don't seem to go away. Most of us recommend doing a clean installs rather than upgrades. At this point, a clean install will be a last resort.

I think I got a little confused about the terms: "Upgrading" and "clean install".

What I did was: Insert the disc and installed win7, I still had all my files once finished. So would that be an upgrade or clean install? And how would the other one be performed?

I first thought clean install was installing windows 7 from scratch, and everything would be resetted; but now I got a little confused!

I've no idea. How can I check that? I bought my pc and never opened it or putted something in it. I hope that says something.

Yes I checked but there were no errors (yellow sign with a "!" in it)

It looks like a driver problem to me too, but what do I do? I don't even know what to un-install or install!

You did an upgrade. For a clean install, you format the hard drive and install from scratch. To do this, you have to back up your files to another drive. You also have to reinstall your programs. This is the preferred method. Many folks have problems after an upgrade and the problems seem to keep on happening.

Do two things.

1. Look at Event Viewer > Windows Logs > and look closely at Applications and at System. Look for yellow triangles and red circles.

2. Please fill out your system information. Go to your User CP at the top of the page, look in the left column and click on Edit system specs. Filling in your specs will help us help you.
