Automatic restart on system crash

I've been getting a load of BSOD's lately, but when I go to safe mode to turn OFF the above (it tells me to highlight the command to turn off and Enter), the next blue screen I get still reboots. How can I get the blue screen to stay there?

go to c:\windows\minidumo, zio the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to use for debugging

This is daft. Whenever I try to zip a minidump file (.dmp), I get an error message and the file disappears. I've tried Winrar, IZarc,and Powerdesk, and they all fail to create the archive!
So I don't have a minidump file to send you.

But why does my system not stop the auto reboot?

For somes reason my minidumps files also dissapeared this mornings, but not due to an action by using a program, they were simply not there anymore !!! No others apparents signs of crash or anything. No blue screen since yesterday. (and the minidumps files were there after!!)
