Backup fails

Backup fails while running antivirus with Norton Internet Security. Norton also shows a virus warning, but then removes the threat. But backup still fails.
I deactivate antivirus, then the backup completes. Can anyone help solve this problem. No one on Norton forum has an answer.

I use NIS 2011. I run Windows Imaging and Windows file/folder backup without problem. Sometimes Norton itself can become unresponsive on occasion when it's doing a background scan.

Try running Norton in Silent mode for the duration of the backup.
